CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – J. Ann Selzer has sent shockwaves through the country with her new poll out during the weekend.
The Des Moines Register/ Mediacom ‘Iowa Poll’ shows Kamala Harris is the state’s preferred presidential candidate.
The poll shows the vice president is leading former president Donald Trump 47 to 44 percent, which is within the margin of error but still a big jump for Harris.
Des Moines Register Statehouse Reporter Stephen Gruber-Miller said Selzer and Company called and interviewed “likely voters.” These are people who have either already voted or those who say they definitely will vote.
Of those called, 808 likely voters answered questions about their preferences for President and Congress.
The poll results are weighted by age, sex, and by Congressional district to reflect the most recent census data. That’s the only weighting this specific poll does.
