With the busy holiday shopping season set to kick off in a matter of days, many folks might be looking to make some extra cash but experts say they should be careful. Many people may be tempted to take a remote work opportunity but not every job out there is legitimate.
The scam typically starts as an innocent e-mail or text message that comes in offering a remote work opportunity. The job often sounds easy and promises the applicant could make hundreds of dollars a week by doing something fairly simple.
