Sox the fox had a rough start to life, but he found a second chance at the Caldwell Zoo.
TYLER, Texas — Sox the fox’s story started in difficulty, but he found a second chance at life at the Caldwell Zoo.
Sox began life as a wild fox. However, his life drastically changed one night when he and his mother were struck by a car.
“He was hurt pretty badly,” said Paul Swen, brand director at the Caldwell Zoo. “But the folks (driving the car) did the right thing,”
They called the game warden, an act which saved Sox’s life. He was taken to a rehabilitator, where he was nursed back to health; however, the accident left him without the ability to hear.
“It was deemed he could not go back in the wild,” Swen said. “At that point, Caldwell Zoo stepped in and volunteered to give him his forever …
