FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – A contract in May transferred ownership of a Fairbanks business’ bounce houses and other equipment. Now, allegations are stirring that the buyer slashed some of the inflatables with a knife after defaulting on the agreement.
Longtime owners of Romper Room, Gregory and LeDusta Whiteside, filed suit against the Aurora Fun Center in North Pole and its owner, Tracy Gabrielsen, on Oct. 1 in Fairbanks Civil Superior Court.
The parties inked a $120,000 deal in which the Whitesides sold the Fairbanks-based inflatables business to Gabrielsen, seeing the inventory — a total of 31 items, such as bounce houses and an obstacle course — change hands May 21.
Gabrielsen made a $30,000 down payment and, according to the business purchase agreement, was to pay the remaining $90,000 over 7 years with a 9% interest rate.
