FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Local gelato and boba shop, Kones Kreamery, is set to run under new ownership after the current owner, Brady Hand, has decided to sell the store to help fund his family’s embryo adoption journey.
He and his wife have been dreaming of becoming parents for years, but as those years go by, it hasn’t quite happened like they imagined.
For the last four years, they’ve struggled with infertility.
Hand explained, “We’ve had two unsuccessful roudns of IVF, one ending in a miscarriage. Just going through all of that, we didn’t even know what IVF or embryo adoption was for a long time when we were having these issues.”
Issue after issue, the couple then learned of embryo adoption, a process in which a family donates their extra frozen embryos, then puts it up for adoption for a couple to take.
Hand said the price of this process can vary, but according to the Embryo Adoption Awareness Center, it ranges from $7,500-$19,500 dollars…
