FEMA opening disaster recovery center in Kewanee [Video]

Residents in Henry County can apply for federal disaster assistance at a new recovery center opening tomorrow.

A FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Center opens at the Henry County Office of Emergency Management, 4424 Walter Payton Memorial Highway (Hwy 34) in Kewanee on Wednesday, October 2 to help residents affected by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding on July 13 – 16. Specialists with FEMA, the state of Illinois and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available to help residents apply for federal disaster assistance, upload documents, answer questions, access other types of assistance and learn how to make their property more disaster resistant.

The center will be open Monday – Sunday, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. More recovery centers will be opening in other impacted counties.
