JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Overnight tonight will bring cooler temps – in the upper 30s or low 40s – and dense, patchy fog.

Tomorrow afternoon will be a nice change. Highs will climb to the low to mid-60s under partly cloudy skies. Warm, quiet, and sunny weather will persist through Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon the next system starts to build in. Rain coverage will increase, mainly along and north of I-20 as scattered showers and thunderstorms pop up. Thursday will be gloomy but warm, and windy. Wind gusts could reach as high as 30 mph Thursday afternoon ahead of the next cold front.

That front will push through Thursday night into Friday morning. Some strong thunderstorms are possible, but severe weather looks unlikely for now. Rainfall totals could be as high as 2 inches from this next system, and flash flooding may be possible. Temperatures will not change much from …
