Fluvanna County has reduced the rental rates for entrepreneurs and startups looking to use its commercial kitchen.
The licensed commercial kitchen, located inside the Fluvanna Community Center in Fork Union, can be rented by the hour to produce food to sell directly to consumers, retail establishments, online or wholesale.
The Fluvanna Board of Supervisors voted in December to decrease the rental rates to $25 an hour for county residents and $30.25 an hour for nonresidents. Both are a decrease of $10 from the previous rates.
The kitchen includes a commercial six-burner stove, large refrigerator and freezer as well as stainless steel serving line and prep line.
“Target users of the commercial kitchen include small business owners and startups interested in food production,” according to the county.
The Fluvanna Community Center is located at 5725 James Madison Highway.
