FTSE 100 opens higher as Prudential jumps on Indonesia expansion, Cranswick climbs – Market Report [Video]

The FTSE 100 eked out a five point gain to 8,289 in early trades, helped by the best week for the Chinese stock market since 2008.

China’s top index has risen by 15% over the past few days on hope a massive economic stimulus is in the wind, speculation that has helped miners listed in London also see big gains.

Results this year are now expected to be towards the upper end of current market expectations, with the shares rising almost 4%.
