Furniture chain closing all locations, including 2 in Oregon [Video]

American Freight “has struggled due to sustained inflation and macroeconomic challenges facing the large durable goods sector,” the parent company said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Discount furniture and appliance store American Freight is shutting down all of its locations across the country, including two stores in Oregon. The closure comes after its parent company filed for bankruptcy.

Franchise Group, Inc., the parent company, announced plans to shutter its online operations and its 328 locations nationwide on Nov. 3 after starting Chapter 11 proceedings in U.S. Bankruptcy Court. In Oregon, American Freight has a store on Southeast 82nd Avenue in Clackamas and another on North Riverside Avenue in Medford.
