SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Changes are coming to Galloway Street right after Thanksgiving. Lane reductions and closures will start as the Galloway Street Widening Project gets underway.
Road crews will reduce Galloway Street to one eastbound lane as they get started on the project. But neighbors say they’re already feeling the impact.
“The more construction they do, there’s more noise,” said Chuck Hernandez, a long-time Galloway Village resident.
Hernandez lives right off Galloway between Luster Avenue and Lone Pine Avenue. That’s where the multi-million dollar Galloway Widening Project is underway, and Chuck feels like he has a front-row seat to all the traffic delays.
“It’s bringing a lot of traffic and a lot of inconvenience to people, especially the residents,” he says.
Crews are starting to add a center turn lane, roundabouts at Luster and Lone Pine, and new pedestrian features along Galloway Street.
