The closures will take place from Sunday to Friday, Nov. 15.
HAMPTON, Va. — Interstate 64 in Hampton will be undergoing more construction starting Sunday, Nov. 10, in order to improve commuter travel by widening the interstate. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, these closures are a part of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lane Project for Segment-4C.
Segment-4C refers to the 2.5-mile stretch between LaSalle Avenue and Settlers Landing Road, one of the most significant choke points in the region. The goal of the $445 million project is to construct one full-time express lane, one part-time express lane, and two general purpose lanes in each direction.
Off-ramp closures from I-64 East to Armistead Avenue and and Rip Rap Road will begin on Sunday, Nov. 10 and last until Friday, Nov. 15, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Starting on Monday, Nov. 11, there will be stoppages on I-64 …
