High Bridge Dog Park will be temporarily closed for renovations [Video]

The nearly 10-acre park is centrally located just west of downtown at 330 S. A Street.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Construction will begin early next week at the High Bridge Dog Park.

Starting August 5, the park will be temporarily closed and it is scheduled to be reopened in early October.

Renovations include the following, according to the Spokane Parks & Recreation Department.

Small and large dog areas
Agility features
Surfacing improvements
Seating
Water fountains in each dog area
Expanded paved parking
Improved entry/exit, including ADA-accessible dog park area
Improved lighting
Fire fuels reduction through selective tree thinning

During construction, you and your pup can visit the current South Hill location near Peperzak Middle School and the downtown pocket dog park (Riverside & Adams).

Funding for the renovation is provided by Spokane Public Schools. Once construction is finished, they will be operated by the City of Spokane Parks & Recreation.
