BALTIC, Conn. (WFSB) – Demand for home heating oil has spiked during this cold snap and companies are doing all they can to keep up.
Kevin Fargo owns Mayday Oil, a small, family-owned business and right now – it’s all hands on deck.
“Me and my other driver are doing 12, 14 hour days,” said Fargo.
Old man winter is no doubt here and so is demand for home heating oil.
“It’s been a lot colder now than the last couple of winters so I think it’s just catching everybody by surprise,” added Fargo.
Mayday’s drivers have been working long hours and on weekends, that’s not normal. Mostly responding to emergency calls, but also keeping on top of auto delivery customers to get ahead of any panicked calls.
“This weekend with the snow and the cold, we just try and stay ahead of it,” explained Fargo.
