PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) – People and businesses in Pueblo can now register their surveillance cameras, like Ring doorbells, with the police department’s Real Time Crime Center. This lets police gather more video evidence to help with their investigations.

Pueblo Police Department Deputy Chief James Martin tells 11 News the department does not have direct access to people’s cameras, but with this technology advancement, if a crime is committed, police can see which houses and businesses in the area have their cameras registered.

From there, they can either email the person or business or send an officer to request the surveillance video. They say it will help them solve cases quicker.

Deputy Chief Martin says, “It’s still really in the beginning stages of us getting registry going, but we are excited to see what it can do for us.”
