HYDE PARK, Ohio (WXIX) – The Hyde Park Neighborhood Council is set to meet on Tuesday to hold a community forum over a proposed redevelopment project.
The development has been controversial for Hyde Park residents. Some say the project would bring a lot of support for the small businesses.
“Putting this development in is going to provide more opportunity for the businesses and make sure our restaurants thrive,” says Hyde Park resident Mark Godsey.
Others don’t believe there’s a need for more apartments and don’t want the historic feeling to change.
“I think the integrity, the history of this square would be greatly missed,” Hyde Park resident Carol Rudy tells FOX19 NOW.
Colleen Reynolds, a partner of the group proposing the development, says that along with more businesses, would come a hotel and more apartment complexes.
