Inaugural Christkindl Market begins in Minneapolis’ North Loop [Video]

MINNEAPOLIS — A European Christmas tradition has touched down in Minneapolis’ North Loop. 

The sounds of “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” filled the air Friday night as hundreds enjoyed the inaugural Minneapolis Christkindl Market.

“It’s one of the really fun traditions from where I come from,” said Executive Director of the market Nadine Schaefer. “It’s really about spending time with your loved ones and getting into the spirit.”

Schaefer says the market features 30 vendors representing 15 countries, many from Europe. “They are interested in participating and showcasing their culture and their product,” Schaefer added.

One vendor is Martin Przybylski, who sells glass-blown and hand-painted ornaments by artists in his home country of Poland.
