Jehiem Oatis returns to practice for Alabama after missing spring with injury [Video]

After missing spring practice due to injury, Alabama football defensive lineman Jehiem Oatis was back at full strength for the start of preseason camp.

Oatis appeared in uniform and was participating in drills during the Crimson Tide’s practice periods that were open to the media on Wednesday. Afterward, head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed he’s back.

“He was almost ready right at the end of spring ball,” DeBoer said. “He’s had a good summer and (we’re) excited about what he’ll bring to the table for us. He was right on the verge. If we’d have had one more week of spring ball, we’d have probably made sure he was out there at that time.”

Oatis provides a valuable veteran presence up front for the Crimson Tide. The junior started three games for Alabama in 2023, playing in all 13.

He had 26 total tackles for UA last season. The Mississippi native also chipped in with a half-sack.
