LATHROP, Mo. (KCTV) – Hurricane Milton comes at a terrible time for Floridians. They’re far from done cleaning up after Hurricane Helene left less than two weeks ago.
Donations and volunteers are needed more than ever. Even around Kansas City, charities and businesses are stepping up now.
The saying goes a good deed goes a long way, and in this case it’s traveling from a small Northwest Missouri Town all the way to the path of Hurricane Helene on the East Coast. But help is still needed to keep the cause growing.
Even from an independently owned tattoo parlor in Lathrop, Heather Menteer knows her community can make a difference.
“These things are actually saving lives you guys,” Menteer pleaded.
In less than a week, her shop has filled with clothes, canned food, toys and more they’ll soon ship out to Crossroads Community Church in Newport, Tennessee.
Tools and construction gear are still needed.
