Keep Pounding Classic ready to kickoff on Thursday [Video]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – High school football starts this week for public schools in North Carolina and South Carolina and it will start with a bang this Thursday at Bank of America Stadium when the Carolina Panthers will hold their 2nd Keep Pounding Classic.

At 4 p.m., Independence and Myers Park will take the field for a meeting between 2 teams that will be contenders for the 4A state title.

Then at 8 p.m., perhaps the biggest regular season game in the state of North Carolina that will be played this year… Weddington vs Providence Day– a meeting between 2 defending state champs.

In the spirit of making this event bigger every year, the Panthers managed to get 2 games on the slate. In the inaugural event in 2023, Providence Day and Northwestern played a great game as the Chargers won 42-35.
