Alternate side parking regulations, per city ordinance, will go into effect starting Sunday, Dec. 1, and last until March 31.
“The importance of alternate side parking is to help facilitate operators’ ability to clear driving lanes, from curb to curb,” said Brian Cater, Kenosha director of Public Works.
“Many city streets are narrow, and when vehicles park across from each other it makes it difficult or impossible for plows, which range from 10 feet to 12 feet wide, to fit through,” Cater said. “If a plow cannot get through, large emergency service vehicles may also not be able to.
