A Good Samaritan spotted the dog Friday morning in the median of I-64 and called police.

JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — Quick-thinking Friday morning from a passerby and a Jeffersontown police officer led to the rescue of a dog from a busy highway.

Jeffersontown police responded to a call Friday morning from a man driving on I-64 who spotted a dog in a small clearing in the median. What happened next will make you smile.  

The Good Samaritan, Gary Hill, called in around 6:45 a.m. and told police what he saw, and they responded quickly. The pup was found on I-64 between Blankenbaker Parkway and Hurstbourne Parkway a short time later. 

After a short time of patrolling the streets of Jeffersontown with some officers, the dog’s owners were identified and were on the way to pick up their furry friend as of 10 a.m.
