KnightBridge to take over ice-cream parlour chain Scrumdiddly’s [Video]

Private equity group KnightBridge has acquired ice-cream parlour chain Scrumdiddly’s two months after taking over Freshly Chopped.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Scrumdiddly’s founders Darren McCormack and Jennifer Kane will retain a minority shareholding in the business following the acquisition, which is being led by KnightBridge’s expanding hospitality division.

Founded in 2012, Scrumdiddly’s has five locations in Dublin and Kilkenny and serves up to 150,000 litres of ice-cream annually.

The company entered the Small Companies Administrative Process (SCARP) last December after recording a €390,000 loss for the year to August 2022 and €940,000 in total liabilities, including tax debt of €355,000.
