JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Lanier finished with a 3-8 record last year, but now they are trying to start anew, and former NFL player Tommy Kelly is their new.
This season, the Bulldogs are trying to be all bark and bite. They plan on having a successful season with a new bulldog leading the pack. Kelly has high expectations for the team and wants both sides of the ball to be tough and powerful.
“As Lanier Bulldogs, on offense, we want to be a very physical team that runs the ball,” said Lanier head coach Tommy Kelly. ” On defense, we want to be fast, physical, and smart and play like your hair is on fire.”
Even though Kelly may be a new face on the Lanier football field, he still feels he can relate to the players because he was once in their shoes.
