Las Matracas looks to promote business on National Taco Day [Video]

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – Every Tuesday for many families around the country serves as Taco Tuesday – a day dedicated to the Mexican dish, served in many styles with many sides and toppings. But, today’s Taco Tuesday is even more special because to day is National Taco Day.

The history of tacos predates the arrival of the Europeans in Mexico when native people of the Valley of Mexico would eat tacos with small fish. Although the dish has come a long way from it’s origins, it’s still a staple of the Mexican culture.

For locals Las Matracas has become a local staple for many who seek authentic Mexican cuisine. In July the restaurant went under new management when Zayda Huezo and her father took over. However, they still looks to expand on that authentic feel and even add their own spin on things.
