SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The traditional wedding season is still around, but more and more couples have had to look at alternate dates and times for their ceremonies as the demand for venues has increased.

Laurel Ridge Barn hosted its 2025 Wedding Showcase on Sunday for couples to not only meet their staff but to meet with DJs, photographers, catering companies, and more.
Just like other venues, Laurel Ridge owner Tyler Childress said they’re starting to get packed for space this year.
“2020 was a boom for the weddings, and then it kind of slowed down a little bit last year. We’re kind of seeing that come back. 2025, for example in August, we have 13 weddings Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays three out of the four weekends. …
