Lawmakers, Flint community celebrate NanoGraf and Department of Energy investment | Business [Video]

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – On Friday, the U.S. Department of Energy was in Flint, with lawmakers, and community members who are a part of the $175 million investment hoping to breathe new live into former Buick City.

One week ago, it was announced a $60 million dollar grant in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to help build one of the world’s largest silicon anode battery material factories.

“A once thriving place that employed tens of thousands of people, to then fall to the wayside. But now, in the horizon, we have connected with hope,” said Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley.
