ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – A lawsuit was filed against an Enterprise business accused of starting a 2022 fire that destroyed several buildings.
College and Main LLC filed the suit against local art studio All About Art and two of its employees.
College and Main LLC owns the building All About Art rented in downtown Dothan as well as 100 and 102 South Main Street and 103 West College Street, leased to a separate tenant. All four buildings were damaged in the fire.
The lawsuit alleges that in October 2022, an employee placed a box of televisions near a kiln, a large oven used to bake pottery. Another employee then turned on the kiln before leaving the building for the night.
Court records state the fire started because the box of televisions was left too close to the kiln, spreading to and damaging several buildings in downtown Enterprise.
