CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Library and Trident United Way are working on a lease agreement for the non-profit to establish a Resource Connection Center in the same building as the downtown main library.
Executive Director of the Charleston County Public Library, Angela Craig, says people come into libraries with daily questions about social services.
“We have increasingly had requests for what we call wraparound services, and that’s things like social services, help with financial aid, help with rental assistance, help with legal assistance, help with health care. While we can make referrals, that’s not in our wheelhouse, and so this has been an increasing need that we have seen grow over the last couple of years,” Craig says.
