Limestone County gets TVA grant for workforce training [Video]

This TVA Workforce Invest Grant will support training programs for healthcare and manufacturing jobs.

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — The Limestone County Economic Development Association (LCEDA) has received a Workforce Invest Grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to enhance training and education initiatives.

“The Limestone Couny Economic Development Association is honored to receive the Workforce Invest Grant from the Tennessee Valley Authority,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association President & CEO Bethany Shockney. “This funding will enhance our ongoing efforts to strengthen workforce development through education and training, ensuring that our local businesses and industries have access to a highly skilled talent pool.”

This program aims to address workforce development challenges by offering scholarships for short-term certificates in healthcare and manufacturing. The scholarships are targeted at various groups, including veterans, single parents, low-income individuals, English language learners, and those without a high school diploma or GED.
