LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The arrival of December means that Christmas time is in full swing, and the holiday spirit that comes with it is spilling out of storefronts around Lincoln.
Many are participating in “Window Wonderland,” a city-sponsored event that encourages buildings to decorate their exteriors for the holiday season.
Those participating include the family-owned “The Waffle Cone” in the Haymarket, whose decorations include a tree with ice-cream cone ornaments.
“We wanted it to feel homey especially with the shop being pretty small,” Michelle Espinosa, who runs the shop with her parents, said. “So we love having a Christmas tree, as every house has one, and the nutcrackers.”
Among many others, they are joined by Ten Thousand Villages located just up the street, who have decorated their shop for the season every year.
