LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Christmas season means holiday traditions like ice skating, tree shopping and decorating, but for those looking to start a new one, Lincoln Hot Glass might have you covered.
The glass-blowing studio, in its second decade in Lincoln, has been offering classes to the public for about 10 years, allowing people to learn the basics of the trade and make their own creations.
For about the past five years, the holiday season has included lessons in ornament making. Instructor Matthew Losee said that interest in the skill has increased lately thanks to TV Shows and documentaries, making the studio a growing hidden gem of Lincoln.
“You know people have never experienced turning something solid into something molten and malleable,” Losee “There’s a challenge to it, and I think people enjoy the challenge and the final product.”
