Thousands of homes and businesses in New Jersey are without power Saturday as strong thunderstorms rip across the state, though some of the outages may not be storm related.
NJ.com’s Power Outage Tracker, which monitors outage numbers from the four major utility companies in the state, showed more than 15,000 utility customers across the Garden State without power as of 4:30 p.m.
Roughly 10,000 of those outages are JCP&L customers in Brick in Ocean County, who lost power for almost two hours. By 6:30 p.m., power had been restored to Brick, police said.
