CHICO, Calif. – With Christmas just days away, many are completing their last-minute holiday shopping, and downtown Chico is bustling with shoppers.

Stores, including Anika Burke, are reporting a significant increase in sales compared to last year’s holiday season.

The Downtown Chico Business Association notes that this time of year is always busy for local businesses, and this year is no exception.

In fact, the city of Chico’s income tax for the last quarter of the year shows a noticeable increase in sales downtown compared to other commercial areas within the city.
