Louisiana law cracks down on squatting, but some call it an overreach [Video]

The conditions inside a downtown condo are deplorable. It has filthy floors, broken sheetrock, and holes in numerous walls.All the damage was done by a squatter, according to Randy Gordon, the owner. “We bought this building in 2011 and converted it to condos,” said Randy Gordon. “February of this year, we had a homeless squatter get in — and this is the outcome of it.” The smell was so bad face masks are required to be worn inside of the condo. “It’s going to cost me some money to clean this place up,” said Gordon.It also cost Gordon a lot of money, time and energy to get the squatter out of his property.According to Gordon, the squatter had been in his condo for seven months.
