LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville saw the best job growth in over seven years in 2024, according to Mayor Craig Greenberg. The year also included a record amount of support for small businesses.
Several companies announced plans to invest a combined $653 million to expand or open new locations across the Metro, creating more than 4,500 jobs.
“Great things are happening in Louisville. I am exited to celebrate the tremendous growth we’ve seen in our economy,” Greenberg said, adding that it’s the most new jobs since 2017.
In addition to the growth of mid-to-large companies, the city provided 21 small businesses with a METCO loan. The program’s board approved low-interest loans totaling $5.1 million and leveraging $59.3 million in private investment, the mayor added.
