Machete allegedly swung at police investigating Sydney crime rampage [Video]

Two teenagers have been arrested and another three are on the run following a violent alleged crime spree across Sydney.

Armed with baseball bats and a machete, the group allegedly stormed homes and businesses during what police say was a “cowardly” rampage.

A 28-year-old man was beaten when the gang allegedly broke into his Chester Hill home about 7pm on Thursday.

One witness told 7NEWS they heard “screaming and yelling”.

The group allegedly stole two mobile phones before fleeing in a small blue Holden Barina hatchback.

Later, just before 10pm, a 62-year-old brothel owner was dragged to the ground and punched while others searched his Villawood business for cash. Police were told the gang made off with money and left in a hatchback.

The victim was treated by paramedics for facial injuries and was taken to Auburn Hospital.
