Man accused of first-degree manslaughter rescinds request for additional DNA testing

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Gregory Landers, 54, of Rapid City is charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of Acey Morrison, 30, who was fatally shot in August 2022.

Landers wrote a letter to Judge Heidi Linngren asking for additional DNA testing to be done on the gun used in the crime, but he took that request back in court on Friday. He said he didn’t want to make the court process any longer.

Landers is set for trial starting on Nov. 18.
