MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAW) – Starting Jan. 3, the Marshfield Police Department front office will close to the public at noon.
Chief Jody Geurink explained that the office hours changes do not affect police services in any way.
He said it is a low-cost perk for employees. He said six months ‘ worth of data showed services would be minimally affected by closing at noon on Friday.
Geuring shared that most of the services the department provided after noon on Friday could be handled by on-duty officers. The record staff still works 40 hours per week.
Again, only the clerical staff is affected. Officers will remain staffed Friday to respond to emergencies and incidents.
