MEDINA, Ohio — Starting at the beginning of this school year, the Medina Community Recreation Center (MCRC) will offer an option for students of working parents with a new afterschool program.
Meghan Caughey of MCRC said the program is for children in grades K-5 who are part of the Medina City School District. She said the program will coincide with the Medina City Schools’ 2024-25 calendar.
“The program is for Medina City Schools students because the school district is offering busing,” she said.
“Students will be bused directly from their home school to the rec center under this program.”
Due to staffing, the program can accommodate roughly 50 students. But Caughey said the center hopes to expand the program and offer it to more students in the future.
