Starting Dec. 15, here’s what changes to expect.

WASHINGTON — Metro riders, get ready for some exciting changes! Starting Sunday, Metro will be ramping up service on both the Green and Yellow lines, and making key adjustments to bus routes across the area.

Whether you’re commuting, heading to a game, or just getting around town, WMATA says these updates are designed to make your ride smoother and faster.

What’s new?

  • Green and Yellow Line trains: Get ready for more frequent trains. During weekdays, trains on both lines will arrive every six minutes until 9:30 p.m. (down from the previous eight minutes during off-peak periods).

  • Metrobus Changes: Metro is adjusting 26 bus routes across the region. Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

    • In D.C.:

      • Route C25 will launch between Anacostia and Stanton Road SE.
      • Georgetown to Union Station will get an extension to better serve riders.
      • Extra service will be added to 14th Street NW as part of preparations for the new Better Bus Network
