MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) – The Midland Mall announced a new visitor policy over the weekend after reported incidents with unsupervised young visitors.
The mall and owner Jordan Dice posted the announcement Saturday on Facebook. Children under the age of 16 now must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Unsupervised kids will be asked to call an adult to be picked up immediately.
Dice says parents have dropped off groups of unsupervised minors at the mall and the children then got into trouble on numerous occasions since he took over ownership of the facility.
He said unsupervised teens have been involved in shoplifting, kicking holes in drywall, writing on bathroom stalls, fights and shouting profanities inside the mall over the past year. Some of the fights caused …
