He’s only in his ninth year in the coaching business, but Mike Brown quickly ascended through the ranks into a job with, perhaps, college football’s most prominent brand.
The Charlottesville native and former star quarterback for Monticello High School is preparing for his first season as wide receivers coach at Notre Dame. He was hired there this past December.
“It’s the importance of being present where you are and being the best where you are,” Brown said of the climb from his first full-time assistant role at Delaware to the next at his alma mater Liberty and onto Cincinnati, Wisconsin and now Notre Dame.
“Opportunities have come,” he said, “and fortunately, I’ve been fortunate to have really good opportunities that have led me here.”
