Millions of drivers must make new pre-registration move from Sept. 1 – missing 2-day deadline will mean fines [Video]

OKLAHOMA drivers only have a few days left to register their cars for metal license plates.

Typically, once a new car is purchased, the driver has a few weeks to register it and receive their shiny new plate.

The deadline to register a new vehicle ranges from a few weeks to a few months, depending on the state.

However, a law called the Mason Treat Act will now limit Oklahoma drivers to two business days to pre-register their vehicles.

During that period, drivers must pre-register to receive a metal license plate and two temporary decals, according to the law.

After the pre-registration process is completed, buyers will have two months from the date of purchase to fully register their new cars.
