The march is on Monday, Jan. 20, starting at 9 a.m.
BOISE, Idaho — Martin Luther King Jr. is known for his non-violent work in the Civil Rights Movement in the 50s and 60s. This year, the Federal Holiday commemorating his work and legacy will be celebrated on Jan. 20, although his actual birthday was on Jan. 15.
Boise State University is holding its fee annual “MLK Day of Greatness March.” People can register for the event on the website, but registration is not necessary to participate.
The march and celebration of his life will last from 9 a.m. until noon. Beginning in the Student Union Building, Jordan Ballroom, people can make posters and get a free MLK T-shirt.
At 11 a.m., people will march from the university to the Idaho Capitol steps, and at 11:30 a.m., student leaders will give speeches on the Capitol steps.
