More traffic headaches for drivers at South Nevada/Tejon corridor as portion of Motor Way closes until spring [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – As work continues around the busy South Nevada/Tejon corridor, drivers can expect more lane restrictions in the area starting Monday.

Motor Way, which connects South Nevada and Tejon, will be closed for maintenance work for the next six months.

“This means people cannot access Motor Way off South Nevada Avenue. People accessing businesses and locations on Motor Way should use South Tejon Street,” the city of Colorado Springs said in a news release on the closure.

The closure, as seen on the below map, is only for a short stretch immediately west of South Nevada. Motor Way heading into Motor City is not impacted.

The closure is in place so that crews can atch and install a new bridge deck overlay, as well as replace the approach slabs.

“All the work will make traffic smoother over the bridge,” the city said.
