Morning Buzz: August 6 [Video]

1. The Michigan Lupus Foundation hopes to raise both money and awareness during its walk at John Ball Zoo next month.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease. It causes the body to mistakenly attack healthy parts of a person, causing pain and inflammation.

The walk supports lupus awareness, patient services, and research to help find a cure.Registration is $25 for adults and $18 for children. That cost includes admission to the zoo if you register before August 25. There will also be a silent auction and raffle.

The walk kicks off Saturday, September 7 at 10 a.m. at the Pond Pavilion at John Ball Zoo.

2. Cherry Health is celebrating National Health Center Week with a “Caring Connections Health Fair” on Friday, August 9.
