A North Bay restaurant that was recently fined for violating child labor laws has closed its doors.

C Casa in Napa is closing after 15 years in business, they said on their website.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the restaurant at the Oxbow Market had hired children as young as 14 years old, and in December, they were fined more than $45,000.

The federal agency said the teens often worked outside the hours permitted for their age group during school days, and even operated hazardous equipment.

It’s unclear if the other C Casa locations in the East Bay will remain open.

KTVU reached out to C Casa but has not heard back in time for publication of this report.
