NASCAR spotter Eddie D’Hondt has secured a multi-year contract to join the No. 7 team at Spire Motorsports. His partnership with driver Justin Haley is set to commence in 2025, marking a significant move from his current position at Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR).
D’Hondt’s decision to transition to Spire Motorsports was publicly shared on his X account, where he posted the Spire Motorsports logo, with the caption:
“Very excited to announce a signed multi-year deal to join @SpireMotorsport and the #7 team. Can’t wait to get started & help building forward.”
The transition to Spire Motorsports is scheduled to be inaugurated at The Clash at Bowman-Gray Stadium in February. This new venture will also see the 65-year-old maintain his collaborative relationship with Rodney Childers, who is currently the crew chief for Berry and will assume the same role for Haley alongside D’Hondt’s new position in 2025.
