Nebraska woman sentenced in federal court for trafficking in counterfeits online [Video]

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A Columbus woman was sentenced Thursday in federal court for selling counterfeit items through an online storefront.

Christine L. Parry, 62, was sentenced by Judge Susan M. Bazis to time served and fined $12,000 for selling imitation brand-name items through an online shop called Bugaboo Boutique. She was also ordered to pay $1,935 restitution to two victims.

Parry was arrested after Customs and Border Protection agents discovered on inspection that goods arriving shipped from China to a FedEx facility in Anchorage, Alaska, were counterfeit. According to Thursday’s report from U.S. Attorney Susan Lehr’s office, those items included fake Birkenstock sandals, Ray Ban sunglasses, Chanel earrings, Louis Vuitton bags, and Louis Vuitton shoes.

“Records obtained from shipping companies, such as FedEx and DHL, showed numerous deliveries of packages from China and Taiwan to Parry,” Thursday’s release states.
